Overview

We’ll take a kayak and exploration adventure to beautiful Comino – exploring caves, crystal waters, gorgeous bays and beaches or stunning rock formations (weather dependent)!

This experience is a full-day tour (10:30am - 4:30pm) from Gozo to Comino. Beginners and experienced kayakers are welcome. It is just a bit more than half kayaking and the rest is relaxing, swimming, exploring on land! You'll visit the Blue Lagoon side and the Santa Maria side of Comino. Both have amazing caves, bays and rock formations. Please understand that all tours are weather-dependent and not all areas/routes may be accessible.

If needed, the guide will teach you the basics and make sure you feel comfortable! Please tell us your kayak experience when booking, so we can group you better with others.
Basic swimming ability required.

A yummy homemade lunch is included!

What To Expect

Hondoq Bay

This is our usual starting point for the Comino tour. Please note that it may change due to weather or other factors. Please read your messages before the tour and contact us if in doubt.

Here, we will set you up with the equipment and make sure you are comfortable in your kayak. You'll meet your guide and do a safety briefing. Then we set you on your way!

Blue Lagoon

From the starting point in Gozo, we then kayak to Comino Island (usually about 20 minutes). Sometimes we do a short paddle along Gozo first if you need a little time to practice!

We usually take a few stop-offs and breaks, we often land in or nearby the Blue Lagoon. You can swim or relax during this time if you would like. Please note that this is an unguided part of the tour. We also sometimes take a short walk exploring land-based areas!

We spend about 3 – 3.5 hours kayaking in total, and in that time, we pass by/enter a number of gorgeous caves, bays and rock formations. It's awesome!

Please understand that all our tours are weather-dependent and not all areas may be accessible. Also, the Comino tours are not always possible due to winds or other factors. The tours are subject to a location change. If so, we will notify you before the tour, so always check your messages and contact us if you are in doubt.

We generally start with a short paddle along the Gozo coastline to get comfortable in our kayaks before our journey takes us across the Gozo Channel Comino! The crossing usually takes about 20min and is approx. 800m at the narrowest point. This is where the adventure really gets started!

Santa Marija Bay

We also visit the Santa Marija Bay area. You can swim or relax during this time if you would like. We also sometimes take a short walk exploring land-based areas!

Cominotto Reef

Cominotto is not easily accessible to regular tourists, but kayaks can make use of the perfect entrance through the secret tunnel through the island to the Blue Lagoon! An unforgettable experience in itself!

Crystal Lagoon

When the weather allows we can kayak around the back of Cominotto and head to explore the stunning clear waters, hidden tunnels and awe-inspiring open-top caves in the Crystal lagoon. We can see where films like Troy (Brad Pitt), Swept Away (Madonna) and the Count of Monte Cristo were filmed!

San Niklaw Bay

Hidden around the corner from San Niklaw Bay is our favourite swimming spot. It is a hidden gorge only easily accessible by water. We lovingly refer to it as Urchin's Bay and it contains a wealth of marine life!
