Overview

The 3 cities tour experience allows you to view the majestic harbour and fortifications from a different perspective. Kayak inside caves, view underwater cannons and historical landmarks in just 2 hours.

Kayaking in the Grand Harbour is the perfect way to explore the three cities as you can cross from one part of the city to another in a few minutes as opposed to walking or getting a bus to the other side which could take hours. We get to see Fort St Angelo and Fort Ricasoli up close and personal. We also pass through Malta's longest kayak cave just under the Great Siege Bell memorial where we enter from one side of the bastion and come out of the other.

What To Expect

Valletta
The Grand Harbour offers a majestic view of the 3 cities (Birgu, Bormla, Isla) and Valletta.

We start of at Birgu and kayak out towards Fort St Angelo. Strategically located on a hillock, at the end of the Birgu peninsula, the fort dominates the Grand Harbour. It was originally built in the medieval period and was rebuilt by the Order of Saint John as a bastioned fort called Fort Saint Angelo in the 1530s.

We continue towards Isla, Rinella and exit the breakwater towards Fort Ricasoli which is a bastioned fort in Kalkara, Malta, which was built between 1670 and 1698. It is not only the largest fort in Malta but also the largest in Europe. On a calm day, canons can be seen underwater which fell through the Fort Ricasoli Roof.

After Ricasoli, we paddle back along the breakwater and enter one of the longest caves in Malta under the great siege bell memorial by entering from one side of the fortification and exiting from another. We then head back to the starting point,
