Location. Located on a high ridge with views across the valley and sea, the Cornucopia Hotel is a rustic converted farmhouse on the outskirts of the tranquil village of Xaghra on the island of Gozo; 700 metres from the sea. Malta International Airport is eight kilometres away with an approximate journey time to Gozo of 45 minutes. Hotel Features. The hotel has two seawater swimming pools, a spa tub and a children's pool set amongst the pretty gardens and terraces. Poolside barbeques are held twice a week in the summer and guests are entertained with live music. In winter there is a carvery buffet every Friday night. The lounge is decorated in traditional rustic style with stone arches, tiled floors, local artefacts and antique furnishings. Other amenities include a boutique and souvenir shop, hair salon and games room.
The Cornucopia Restaurant is an intimate restaurant characterised by its traditional rustic decor and stone arches fashioned from local limestone. Mediterranean dishes and local specialties are served.
Guestrooms. The hotel offers 50 air- conditioned guestrooms located on two floors, all of which have light Mediterranean decor with tiled floors and ceiling fans. Guestrooms extend to balconies or terraces and include satellite television, direct-dial phones, minibars and bathrooms with hair dryers.
Expert Tip. The picturesque village of Xaghra is encircled by beautiful bays and Ramla Bay has unique honey-red sand. The Ggantija Temples, two kilometres away, are said to be the oldest free-standing structures in the world and the 18th century windmill in the town attracts a lot of visitors.
